ROTTERDAM, 23 September 2026 – The Vintage Editor officially opens its first physical shop at Nieuwe Binnenweg 100 on Friday 25 September. Founded by Nen Xavier, the Rotterdam concept focuses on a smaller, carefully selected collection of timeless and genderless second-hand clothing rather than racks filled with large quantities of vintage.
A more selective take on vintage
The Vintage Editor is built around the idea that shopping second-hand does not necessarily have to mean spending an afternoon digging through densely packed rails. Each piece is selected for qualities including its silhouette, material, condition and overall aesthetic.
Many of the clothes are non-branded, shifting the emphasis away from labels and towards the individual piece. The collection is intended to change regularly, so what you find in the shop will evolve as new items are selected.
That approach also explains the name. Here, ‘curated vintage’ means Xavier is effectively acting as an editor, narrowing down the selection before the clothes reach the shop floor. It makes The Vintage Editor a different proposition from the treasure-hunt approach associated with many larger second-hand shops.

The Edit reworks existing clothes
The official opening on 25 September also introduces the shop’s new winter collection and The Edit, a separate collection created from reconstructed second-hand pieces.
Rather than simply reselling the original garments, existing vintage items are altered and reinterpreted to create new pieces. The concept explores another route for extending the life of clothing that already exists, alongside the shop’s regular selection of second-hand fashion.
The opening runs from 16:00 to 20:00 at Nieuwe Binnenweg 100.

The shop joins an already varied stretch of the Nieuwe Binnenweg, where fashion, design, specialist shops, food and other independent businesses sit alongside each other. The Vintage Editor is located on the section between Mathenesserlaan and Westersingel.
Xavier’s concept puts personal style ahead of brand recognition, while the relatively limited selection is intended to make browsing more focused. The press material positions this approach as part of a more conscious way of consuming fashion, with existing garments selected, reused and, in the case of The Edit, reconstructed rather than newly produced.
