HAPPENING 6 DEC '26 | Waluw Vintage & Design Market is returning to Rotterdam with a Christmas edition on Sunday 6 December, bringing more than 60 vintage and design dealers to the brand-new EDGE building on Coolsingel. Expect vintage fashion, mid-century furniture, jewellery, vinyl records and unusual gifts, with a chance to explore one of the city's newest architectural additions.
Rotterdam's vintage enthusiasts have another date to circle in their calendars. After last year's Christmas edition at De Doelen, Waluw is moving to a completely different setting for 2026. From 10:30 to 16:30, the new EDGE Coolsingel building will become a temporary marketplace filled with design objects, second-hand treasures and festive shopping opportunities.
The market is organised by Christian Igesz and Marieke Holtes, who have built Waluw around a carefully selected mix of vintage dealers, designers and collectors. Rather than an ordinary flea market, Waluw focuses on distinctive pieces, ranging from furniture and ceramics to fashion, jewellery, records, art and design books.

More than 60 vintage and design stands
The Christmas edition will bring together more than 60 established vintage businesses, design specialists and antique dealers. Visitors can browse mid-century furniture, lighting, decorative objects, clothing, accessories, vinyl records and unusual pieces that are unlikely to appear in an average high-street shop.
It's also rather conveniently timed for Christmas shopping. If you're hoping to give someone a gift with a little more personality, a vintage lamp, a rare record or a piece of jewellery might make a welcome change from the usual presents. And even if you're not planning to buy anything, browsing the collections can be half the fun.
DJ Richelle Soigni will provide the music throughout the day, while Kuub Coffee will be serving coffee and drinks. Patisserie and other refreshments will also be available, giving visitors somewhere to recharge between discoveries.

A first look inside EDGE Coolsingel
The venue is another reason to visit. EDGE Coolsingel is a new office and workspace development at Coolsingel 75, directly opposite Rotterdam City Hall. Its design, by Rotterdam-based architecture practice NUDUS, draws inspiration from the building that previously occupied the site.
That earlier building, designed by Dutch architect J.J.P. Oud and completed in 1961, was part of Rotterdam's post-war reconstruction architecture. The new EDGE development references its horizontal lines and geometric forms while introducing a contemporary glass facade, a large atrium and sustainable building technology.
For Waluw's organisers, the combination of modern architecture, natural light and views of Coolsingel makes the location particularly suitable for a design-focused market. It also gives visitors an opportunity to discover the interior of a building that is normally associated with offices rather than public events.
Several businesses, including media companies, are expected to occupy EDGE Coolsingel, making the market an early opportunity to experience the new space.

How to get there
EDGE Coolsingel is located in the heart of Rotterdam, directly opposite City Hall. Stadhuis metro station, served by lines D and E, is immediately nearby. Rotterdam Centraal is also approximately an eight-minute walk away.
If you're arriving by car, several paid parking garages are available around Coolsingel and Stadhuisplein. Public transport is generally the easiest option, although anyone planning to take home a particularly large piece of furniture may want to make alternative arrangements.
