HAPPENING 26 SEP '26 | Vinyl collectors, music fans and determined crate diggers can spend a full day searching through records at Rotterdam Ahoy on Saturday 26 September. Record & CD Fair Rotterdam brings more than 120 stands to Hall 2, filled with tens of thousands of records, CDs, DVDs and music memorabilia from dealers in the Netherlands and abroad.
The fair runs from 10:00 to 17:00 and covers everything from rock, metal and jazz to hip-hop and less obvious corners of music history. It is organised by Record Planet, the Dutch company behind the enormous Mega Record & CD Fair in Den Bosch.
More than 120 stands of music
The Rotterdam edition is one of Record Planet's regional fairs and one of the larger one-day record fairs in the Netherlands. More than 120 stands will fill Ahoy with new and second-hand vinyl, CDs, DVDs, collectibles and music memorabilia.
You do not need a carefully maintained Discogs wantlist to enjoy it. The organisers explicitly aim the fair at both experienced collectors and people only just beginning to buy physical music. Alongside rare and collectible releases, there should be plenty of more affordable second-hand albums and CDs that make it possible to browse without turning every purchase into a major financial decision.
Genre-wise, the organisers promise a broad spread. Rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, jazz and hip-hop are specifically mentioned, but Record Planet's dealer network stretches considerably further, with its larger fairs known for everything from soul and psych to electronic music and obscure international pressings.
A vinyl DJ provides music during the day, which should make Hall 2 feel somewhat less like a conventional trade fair and more like a very large record shop where every few metres belongs to somebody else.

Record Planet has decades of crate-digging history
Record Planet has been organising record fairs for more than 30 years. Its flagship Mega Record & CD Fair was established in the 1990s and is now held twice a year at the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, alongside regional editions in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Hoorn and Haarlem.
The scale of the Den Bosch event is rather different, with hundreds of dealers and visitors travelling from countries around the world. Rotterdam is the more manageable version: one day, one Ahoy hall and enough stands to keep you browsing for several hours without requiring an expedition strategy.
What the two events share is the social side of record collecting. You can inspect condition before buying, talk directly to dealers, compare different pressings and occasionally find something you were not looking for at all. That remains one of the advantages of an actual record fair over endlessly refining search filters online.
Physical music also extends beyond vinyl here. CDs and DVDs remain part of the fair, as does memorabilia, making the event relevant even if you have no intention of joining the vinyl revival.
Tickets and practical information
Record & CD Fair Rotterdam takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 from 10:00 to 17:00 in Hall 2 of Rotterdam Ahoy. Entrance is via RTM A.
Online admission costs €8.50 including service fees. Tickets at the entrance cost €10. Children up to and including 15 years old can enter free when accompanied by an adult.

How to get there
Rotterdam Ahoy is next to Zuidplein, around five minutes' walk from Zuidplein metro and bus station. Metro lines D and E connect Zuidplein directly with Rotterdam Centraal and the city centre. Ahoy also has bicycle parking and more than 2,500 car parking spaces; guaranteed parking can be reserved in advance for €20.
