Maastunnelloop Rotterdam: routes, sign-up, and what to expect

HAPPENING 9 NOV 2025 | The Maastunnelloop returned to Rotterdam with a course that links some of the city’s most recognisable views to a rare passage through the historic Maastunnel. The 2025 edition featured a 10 km run, a business run, a walk and powerwalk, plus a 1 km family loop supported by gro-up, with daytime programming around Het Park, the Parkkade and the Erasmus Bridge.

What makes the Maastunnelloop special

Runners and walkers experience the city at street level: the riverfront, the Erasmus Bridge, and the 1942 Maastunnel itself. Local listings place the start area by Het Park and Parkkade, with routes crossing “de Zwaan” and through the tunnel before looping back along the Maas.

Distances and format

  • 10 km run and business run as the main competitive distance.
  • Walk and powerwalk options for non-runners.
  • 1 km gro-up family loop for children and families.

Date, start time and location (2025)

  • Sunday 9 November 2025
  • Morning programme with a 10:30 start time referenced in route listings near Het Park / Parkkade.

Registration and pricing

Registration for 2025 ran via Inschrijven.nl; the public entry form was hosted at: https://inschrijven.nl/form/2025110951345. Pricing tiers circulated in local press indicated different fees per distance, with business entries at a higher rate.

Charities and partners

The event’s 2025 communications highlighted charitable partnerships and community support.

Practical notes

  • Getting there: Central start near Het Park / Parkkade; arrive by public transport or bicycle to avoid road closures.
  • Course character: Bridge gradients, tunnel descent and climb, exposed riverfront sections.
  • Families: Dedicated 1 km family loop.

Background

The Maastunnelloop is a Rotterdam original: a city route that threads across the Maas and through the country’s oldest traffic tunnel under a major river. It has appeared on regional running calendars and community listings for years, drawing club runners, company teams and families alike.
