HAPPENING 8 NOV 2026 | The Inofec Maastunnelloop returns to Rotterdam on Sunday 8 November 2026. The sixth edition combines running, walking and a family route with a course through or past some of the city’s best-known landmarks, including the Maastunnel and Erasmusbrug. The event site, start and finish are on the Parkkade.
What makes the Maastunnelloop special
The Maastunnelloop makes Rotterdam itself part of the course. Participants in the longer distances pass through or alongside landmarks including the Maastunnel, Erasmusbrug, Hotel New York, ss Rotterdam and Maassilo.
The shortest event has a different setting. The gro-up 1 KM Familieloop takes children and accompanying adults through Het Park by the Euromast.

Running through Rotterdam
The main 10 km course starts and finishes on the Parkkade and takes participants through the Maastunnel, over the Erasmusbrug and past Hotel New York. The organisers also name the ss Rotterdam and Maassilo among the landmarks encountered along the route.
The combination of river, tunnel and bridge makes this a particularly Rotterdam course rather than a conventional road race that could take place anywhere.

Charity and accessibility
The Maastunnelloop supports Stichting Vrienden van Rijndam, which funds facilities that complement the regular rehabilitation care provided by Rijndam Revalidatie.
For the 2026 edition, the event is raising money towards an exercise room for children, including an adapted climbing structure, a swing system and interactive exercise equipment.
Rijndam patients and employees also take part in the event. The organisers emphasise that participants with disabilities can join by running, rolling or using equipment such as a framerunner.
