HAPPENING 8 NOV '26 | Maassilo will swap its usual night-time crowd for a much younger generation on Sunday 8 November when KiDDiERAVES comes to Rotterdam. The daytime family rave is primarily aimed at children roughly aged 2 to 10, inviting them onto the dance floor together with parents, grandparents and other family members for DJs, lights and a full club-style production.
A real club experience for kids
KiDDiERAVES was created by Rieuwkje Zuiderbaan around a simple idea: children and adults sharing the dance floor rather than parents watching a conventional children’s disco from the sidelines.
The events take place inside established club venues and recreate recognisable elements of a rave in a format designed around families. DJs, light shows, visuals, dancers, confetti and other production effects are part of the experience, while sound levels are set lower than during a regular club event.
The Rotterdam edition has a particularly fitting setting. Maassilo is a converted grain silo dating from 1910 that has become one of Rotterdam’s established dance and event venues. On 8 November, its industrial spaces will operate during the day as a club environment aimed primarily at young children and the adults accompanying them.

K-pop theme takes over Maassilo
The current KiDDiERAVES programme has a K-pop theme, with Teddy Turbo and the K-pop crew appearing at the autumn events in Gemert, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Music mixes child-friendly tracks and remixes with recognisable current songs and electronic dance music.
A central part of each event is the 30-minute KiDDiERAVES LIVE set, where music is combined with synchronised visuals, dancers, performers, balloon drops, confetti and stage effects. Other activities and themed elements can differ between locations.
Despite the younger audience, the organisers stress that this remains an energetic club-style environment. The event is not designed as a low-stimulation experience. There can be flashing lights, bass-heavy moments, crowds around the main stage and special effects, and KiDDiERAVES recommends hearing protection for toddlers, young children and children sensitive to sound.

Parents join the dance floor
The focus is very much on families experiencing the event together. Children can only attend with an adult, while adults are admitted as part of a family group rather than attending the rave independently.
That is also what separates the concept from a standard children’s disco. The intention is to give younger children a taste of the atmosphere their parents may recognise from clubbing, but at an earlier hour and with the music, production and overall format adapted to a family event.
Food and drinks are available at KiDDiERAVES events, with options for children as well as adults. The organisers also allow pushchairs, although they cannot be used around the main stage or dance floor during busy moments.

KiDDiERAVES Rotterdam takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026. The official website currently confirms the Rotterdam date but still lists the exact event times and start of ticket sales as coming soon, so there is no confirmed timetable or ticket price to publish yet.
