HAPPENING 1–10 November | The Rotterdam Popweek returns this November with 10 days of diverse music events. From concerts to special sessions, the festival celebrates the city's vibrant music scene.
The Rotterdam Popweek (Rotterdamse Popweek) is set to take place once again, running from Friday, 1 November until Sunday, 10 November 2024. Organised by Popunie, the event will showcase the local music scene across various genres and venues throughout the city.
12th edition of Rotterdam Popweek
Since its inception in 2013, Rotterdam Popweek has become a key event in the city's cultural calendar. Last year, the festival featured over 840 acts and 255 events, spanning 115 locations. In 2024, the 12th edition of the Popweek aims to continue this legacy, offering music lovers the chance to explore the city's creative talent. From intimate gigs to large-scale performances, the event caters to a wide range of musical tastes, from pop and rock to hip-hop, metal, and experimental sounds.
Special events and highlights
The Popweek 2024 programme includes several standout events and special features. Opening night on Friday, 1 November, will kick off with the Rotterdamse Popquiz at Studio 1 in De Doelen Studio. Throughout the week, audiences can attend a variety of concerts and sessions, such as:

In addition to live performances, the event will include knowledge-sharing sessions and other innovative activities, further highlighting Rotterdam's DIY (do-it-yourself) music culture.

Directions to key venues
Several venues will host Popweek events, with one of the central locations being De Doelen Studio, located in the heart of Rotterdam. This venue is easily accessible via public transport, and it is within walking distance of Rotterdam Central Station. Visitors attending events in Delfshaven can explore one of the city's most historic neighbourhoods, while Maassilo, an industrial venue, is located in the southern part of the city and is well connected by metro. Other venues, such as Roodkapje and Grounds, are also accessible by tram or metro, making it easy for festival-goers to navigate the city.
