Relax Seats now available at Pathé De Kuip in Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM, 21 March 2025 – Pathé De Kuip has introduced Rotterdam’s first cinema hall with Relax Seats, enhancing the movie-watching experience in the city.

Pathé De Kuip has become the first cinema in Rotterdam to feature Relax Seats. The newly opened hall is now equipped with these adjustable seats, offering enhanced comfort to visitors. Over the coming months, all cinema halls in Pathé De Kuip — except the 4DX hall — will be fitted with these seats, with completion expected before the summer holidays.

The cinema, known for being one of the busiest in the Netherlands, will ultimately feature 13 halls equipped with a total of 1,660 Relax Seats. The Dolby Cinema hall will also be upgraded with these seats, making it the second Dolby Cinema location in the Netherlands to provide this enhanced comfort.

Gradual transition ensures uninterrupted screenings

During the upgrade process, Pathé De Kuip will remain open to the public, with halls being updated one by one. The 4DX hall will retain its original seating, which is designed to complement its immersive film experience.

What are Relax Seats?

Pathé’s Relax Seats are electrically adjustable chairs that allow guests to modify the backrest and footrest with a single button. Each seat includes a convenient table for snacks and drinks. The halls are designed to ensure optimal viewing angles from every seat.

Pathé has previously introduced Relax Seats at several other locations, including Pathé Breda, Pathé Ede, Pathé Haarlem, Pathé Eindhoven, Pathé Leeuwarden, Pathé Scheveningen, Pathé Ypenburg, and Pathé De Munt.
