ROTTERDAM, 28 November 2024 – LantarenVenster is undergoing significant renovations, including the addition of a new stage in its foyer. The venue is calling on its audience to help complete this project through crowdfunding.
LantarenVenster seeks public support for foyer renovation
LantarenVenster, a cultural hotspot in Rotterdam, is in the midst of a major renovation to transform its foyer. The refurbishment includes the addition of a new stage, which is intended to become a central space for performances, discussions, and artistic exploration. While the renovation budget is largely in place, additional funding is needed to finalise the stage’s construction and install essential technical equipment.
Crowdfunding initiative underway
To address the funding gap, LantarenVenster has launched a crowdfunding campaign through the platform Voordekunst (voordekunst.nl/lantarenvenster). Thus far, over 700 donors have contributed, collectively raising almost 60% of the targeted amount. The management is inviting the public to participate further, noting that even small contributions can help bring the vision to life.
A new cultural stage for Rotterdam
The planned stage aims to offer a dynamic space for local and international talent. It will host a variety of performances, from emerging Rotterdam artists to experimental filmmakers and musicians exploring new genres. This addition is set to enhance LantarenVenster’s role as a cultural meeting place while fostering accessibility and innovation in the arts.
Rewards for contributors
Supporters of the crowdfunding campaign will receive exclusive rewards based on their contributions. Options include a chance to win a "Golden Ticket," discounted passes, or a package combining a dinner and film experience. Donations start at €10, making it accessible for individuals to contribute to the project.
