ROTTERDAM, 1 June 2026 – waterdrop Rotterdam opens its new shop at Meent 122 on 4 June 2026, bringing the Austrian brand’s Microdrinks and drinkware to the city centre. The opening adds another retail name to the Meent, one of Rotterdam’s busiest streets for shopping, coffee stops and a bit of casual browsing.
New shop on the Meent
The new waterdrop store in Rotterdam will be the brand’s latest Dutch location, following its flagship store on Kalverstraat in Amsterdam, which opened in 2022, and more recent shops in Utrecht and Designer Outlet Roermond. A new Amstelveen branch is also planned for 15 June.
For Rotterdam, the arrival means another specialist store on the Meent, where you can now walk in to try the brand’s compact drink cubes, bottles and other drinkware instead of ordering online or travelling to another city.

waterdrop was founded in Vienna in 2016 by Martin Murray, his brother Henry and their childhood friend Christoph. The brand has since grown into an international scale-up active in more than 40 countries.
Its basic idea is simple: help people drink more water by adding flavour without sugar, artificial additives or single-use plastic bottles. That pitch fits neatly into a city where refill bottles have become part of everyday life, whether you are cycling across town, heading to the office or spending the afternoon around the centre.
Microdrinks and drinkware
The main product line at waterdrop is its Microdrinks: small cubes made with natural fruit and plant extracts, enriched with vitamins and free from sugar and artificial additives. You add one cube to still or sparkling water, creating a flavoured drink without buying a ready-made bottled drink.
The Rotterdam shop will also sell waterdrop’s drinkware, including bottles and thermo drink cups. The brand presents this combination of flavour cubes and reusable drinkware as an alternative to traditional 500 ml drink packaging.

According to waterdrop, using its system can save up to 98% plastic and CO₂ compared with traditional 500 ml packaging. The new Rotterdam shop therefore gives the brand a physical spot in the city to sell that idea, rather than relying only on online retail.
Opening offers in Rotterdam
To mark the opening on 4 June, waterdrop Rotterdam is offering several in-store promotions. The first 200 visitors on the opening day will receive a free goodiebag, with no purchase required.
The first 20 customers will also receive €20 off when spending at least €45. In addition, customers who buy six 12-packs will receive a free bottle.

There is also a personalisation offer during the opening period. Customers buying bottles or Explorer Thermo Drink Cups can have them engraved for free in the store.
That makes the opening more than a quick shop launch. It gives curious Rotterdam shoppers a reason to drop by, test the flavours and see the drinkware in person before deciding whether the whole Microdrinks thing belongs in their daily routine.
How to get there
