Winter in Rotterdam is built for ice. Whether you want fast laps on a 400 metre track, a gentle first wobble with the kids, or a one-off pop-up rink with hot chocolate nearby, you have options. Here is where to skate this season, with the key dates, prices and practical tips you will actually need.
Schaatsbaan Rotterdam (Kralingen)
Schaatsbaan Rotterdam is the city’s flagship winter rink. You skate laps in a covered rainbow-lit tunnel on a 400-metre track with ISU dimensions. There is also a 1,600 m² fun rink (the Funbaan, the casual family rink where training aids are allowed) and dedicated curling lanes.

Plaswijckpark’s rink (Hillegersberg-Schiebroek)
Plaswijckpark turns part of the park into a winter zone called Winterwijck, including an ice rink. This is a good choice if you want skating bundled with a full family day out. The park installs a covered 500 m² real-ice rink.
For 2025–26 the park confirms real-ice skating from 15 November 2025 to 1 March 2026 under the “Winterwijck” banner. Check the park’s channels for day-to-day schedules and any weather adjustments.

Winters Blijdorp at Rotterdam Zoo
Diergaarde Blijdorp has introduced Winters Blijdorp, a winter route around the Oceanium with light trails, storytelling and a compact ice rink. On the Rabobank-schaatsbaan, a covered 10 by 20 metre real-ice rink on the Oceanium forecourt, you can skate short laps and let kids try the ice in a safe setting.
2025–26 dates and tickets
Winters Blijdorp runs from Friday 12 December 2025 to Sunday 18 January 2026. The winter route and ice rink are open during regular daytime opening hours for zoo visitors. On six Winter evenings (19, 20, 26 and 27 December, plus 2 and 3 January) the park stays open until 21.00 with extra lighting, music and food stalls. A separate Winter evening ticket is required for those dates.
Access to the ice rink itself is included in your zoo ticket, but skate rental is mandatory and costs €5 per person for a 45-minute slot. For the Winter evenings, you must reserve a time slot for the Rabobank-schaatsbaan in advance via the Blijdorp website. Gloves are compulsory.
