Flink trials grocery price match in Rotterdam
A temporary price-matching initiative has been launched by grocery delivery service Flink in Rotterdam. The scheme allows local residents to request reimbursement of the price difference when a product purchased through Flink is found to be cheaper at Albert Heijn.
The initiative is part of a pilot campaign aimed at addressing public perception around the cost of grocery delivery. According to Robin Kiesler, Flink’s managing director in the Netherlands, customers often assume that delivery services are more expensive than traditional supermarkets. Kiesler noted that the company intends to remove that uncertainty by aligning its prices with those of Albert Heijn and compensating customers where discrepancies occur.
Free same-day delivery above €49
The price-matching offer is being trialled exclusively in Rotterdam. As part of the campaign, orders over €49 will be delivered free of charge on the same day. This offer excludes special deals such as “1+1 gratis” promotions, which are not included in the price comparison.
The company stated that the service is designed to offer the convenience of home delivery without additional cost to consumers, while maintaining competitive pricing.

The campaign applies to all orders placed in Rotterdam via the Flink app. Flink operates across the city, with delivery zones encompassing most residential and commercial districts. Users must upload proof of a lower price from Albert Heijn in order to be eligible for the reimbursement.
