HAPPENING 23–24 OCT '26 | The Official Unofficial returns to Rotterdam on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October with more than 50 free daytime performances during the Left of the Dial weekend. You do not need a Left of the Dial ticket or wristband: showcases run from 12:00 to 16:00 at venues across central Rotterdam and are open to everyone.
Free music across central Rotterdam
The Official Unofficial fills two afternoons with showcases organised by bands, record labels, venues, festivals, booking agencies and other music organisations. Each host arranges its own artists and location, creating a programme that spreads new music across the city centre.
The 2026 edition takes place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October from 12:00 to 16:00. Rotown currently describes more than 50 performances across the two afternoons.
Admission is completely free. There is no festival ticket, wristband or registration requirement, although individual locations can naturally fill up when a popular act is playing.

It is separate from Left of the Dial
The timing can be slightly confusing. The Official Unofficial happens during the Left of the Dial weekend, but it is not organised or curated by Left of the Dial.
Individual hosts choose the artists and organise their own showcases. Left of the Dial is not responsible for the line-up or production, although it supports The Official Unofficial promotionally.
That distinction also matters when it comes to tickets. You do not need a Left of the Dial wristband to visit The Official Unofficial, and showcase organisers do not receive free Left of the Dial tickets simply by taking part.
Rotown hosts two showcases
Rotown has already published its complete programme for both afternoons.
On Friday 23 October, Brighton band Canned Pineapple hosts the stage. Painkiller opens at 12:00, followed by PleasureInc. at 13:15 and Canned Pineapple at 14:30.
On Saturday 24 October, Rotterdam label Excelsior Recordings takes over. FIEP plays at 12:00, followed by plonki at 13:10, Camilo Donoso at 14:20 and Apeshit at 15:30.
Rotown is just one of the participating locations. The wider programme is spread across central Rotterdam.

The programme is still growing
The organisers are continuing to add artists and hosts to the 2026 line-up, so it makes sense to check the live timetable shortly before heading out.
The latest artists and showcases are published on the official line-up page. You can also save favourites and check the latest timetable through the official TMSQR app.
Because each showcase is independently organised, the programme can move between different corners of alternative and independent music rather than following one central booking policy.
No Left of the Dial ticket needed
This year's free programme is particularly useful if you missed out on a Left of the Dial ticket. The main festival is already sold out.
Left of the Dial's regular three-day programme takes place from Thursday 22 to Saturday 24 October. An additional Rotterdam-focused Wednesday programme takes place on 21 October for festival ticket holders with a separate Wednesday ticket.
The Official Unofficial requires neither. You can simply head into town on Friday or Saturday afternoon and visit participating showcases while there is room.

How The Official Unofficial works
There is no single festival venue. Hosts organise their own event, find a venue in central Rotterdam, book the artists and submit their timetable to The Official Unofficial.
That means one showcase might be presented by a record label, another by a band and another by a festival, venue or booking agency. The result is deliberately decentralised and changes as new hosts join the programme.
The Official Unofficial takes place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026 from 12:00 to 16:00. Admission is free.
