HAPPENING 16–17 May 2026 | This spring, a weekend plant market will transform Trompenburg Gardens into a hub for greenery, featuring growers, garden décor and eco-conscious inspiration. The event is open to all gardening enthusiasts.
Plant market returns to Trompenburg Gardens
Trompenburg will host its specialist plant market on 16 and 17 May. The event brings together specialist growers selling plants, trees and shrubs, with the market ranging from perennials and bulbs to cacti. Visitors can also ask growers for advice during the weekend.
Alongside the plants, the market will include stalls selling garden decoration, honey and other garden-related products. Flora’s terrace will also be open that weekend, which makes the May market feel less like a quick shopping stop and more like one of those easy spring days where you can browse, walk and eat in the same place.
Growers and gardening experts
We're not sure who's coming in 2026, but last year, the market featured several growers including:
- Happy Garden, a hobby nursery known for cultivating hostas, irises, daylilies, poppies and peonies.
- Kwekerij Aaldering – De Stek, a biological nursery offering perennials such as Epimedium and Geranium. This grower also provides social day programmes as part of its operations.
- Krukla Tuinen, a small-scale nursery focusing on perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs and trees. They also offer garden design and sustainable planting advice.
- Botanische tuin Mei Chu, a botanical garden covering three hectares, home to over 80 species of bamboo, along with Asian trees, shrubs and perennials.
We'll update this section as soon as we learn more.
