When is Audio Obscura Festival Rotterdam 2027?
Audio Obscura Festival 2027 is scheduled for Saturday 28 August 2027 at Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam.
The event is currently listed from 12:00 to 23:00. Audio Obscura's own community page confirms the date, venue and noon start, while Resident Advisor lists the full daytime running time.
The 2027 line-up has not yet been announced. We’ll update this page when Audio Obscura confirms the first artists.
Audio Obscura returns after a sold-out 2026 edition
The 2027 announcement follows another sold-out Audio Obscura Festival at Van Nelle Fabriek in 2026.
That edition expanded to a capacity of 20,000 visitors and combined its electronic music programme with visual art, dance and other cultural elements. A separate night programme continued inside the factory after the daytime festival finished.
Audio Obscura first brought its festival format to Van Nelle Fabriek in 2024. That inaugural edition marked the first time the complex and grounds had been used in this way as a festival site.
A festival inside a Rotterdam landmark
Van Nelle Fabriek gives Audio Obscura something most purpose-built festival grounds cannot: a complete piece of Rotterdam's industrial history.
The former factory complex is characterised by long glass façades, reinforced concrete and the elevated transport bridges connecting its buildings. Previous editions of Audio Obscura have used both indoor and outdoor areas of the site, placing stages and performances directly among its architecture.
Details of the precise 2027 stage layout have not yet been announced.
Why Van Nelle Fabriek is UNESCO-listed
Van Nellefabriek was designed and built in the 1920s in Rotterdam's Spaanse Polder.
UNESCO describes it as an outstanding example of modern industrial architecture. Its main buildings use reinforced-concrete structures together with steel-and-glass façades and extensive curtain-wall construction, allowing unusually large amounts of daylight into the former working spaces.
The complex was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.
Tickets for Audio Obscura Festival 2027
Audio Obscura has already added the 2027 festival to its official community platform, where it currently appears under presale.
At the time of writing, we have not found confirmed 2027 ticket prices or ticket tiers published by the organiser. We recommend using Audio Obscura's own channels for presale and ticket updates rather than relying on unofficial resale listings.
The festival is currently listed as an 18+ event.
How to get to Van Nelle Fabriek
Audio Obscura Festival takes place at Van Nelle Fabriek, Van Nelleweg 1, 3044 BC Rotterdam.
For the regular public-transport route, buses run from Rotterdam Centraal and Schiedam Centrum to the Beukelsbrug / Van Nelle Fabriek stop, followed by a short walk.
Van Nelle Fabriek says the bus journey from Rotterdam Centraal takes about eight minutes, with the stop roughly two minutes on foot from the complex.
Festival-specific shuttle buses, parking arrangements and other transport measures for 2027 have not yet been announced. Check Audio Obscura's event information closer to the date before travelling.
