HAPPENING 25 July 2026 | Papagayo Latin Party takes salsa and bachata to the roof of AIR Offices on Saturday 25 July, during Rotterdam’s Zomercarnaval. The outdoor party runs from 16:00 to 23:00, with a salsa workshop, carnival performances and music by DJs Jawalatino, Ares and Phily.
Both the AIR Skyline Pavilion and the adjoining rooftop deck will become one large dance area overlooking central Rotterdam. With the Zomercarnaval Street Parade moving through the city below, the event combines social dancing with a rather special (though far) view of Rotterdam’s biggest Caribbean celebration.

Dancing above the city
Papagayo’s Zomercarnaval edition is billed as a 50/50 salsa and bachata party, giving both dance communities plenty of room across the afternoon and evening. The location sits high above Beursplein and the Coolsingel, with views across the centre from AIR’s rooftop spaces.
The Street Parade begins at 12:00 on Blaak and follows a five-kilometre route through central Rotterdam. By the time Papagayo opens at 16:00, the city should already be filled with music, costumes and carnival crowds, making the rooftop a lively place to continue the day.
The event is planned for the rooftop, but it will move indoors at AIR Offices if the weather turns against Rotterdam. Papagayo has confirmed that the party will go ahead regardless, so a rain cloud should not be enough to cancel your plans.
Workshop and DJ programme
The afternoon starts with an intermediate Salsa On1 workshop by Salsa by Charrisa from 16:00 to 16:45. Social dancing then continues until 23:00 with DJ Jawalatino, DJ Ares and DJ Phily. Alongside the DJ sets, the programme includes salsa performances in colourful carnival costumes. Vitam will serve food and drinks throughout the event, so you can settle in for the full seven hours rather than attempting to survive on dance-floor enthusiasm alone.

Tickets for Papagayo at AIR
Early-bird tickets cost €10 online, followed by regular online tickets at €12.50. Tickets at the door cost €15, subject to availability. The rooftop has a listed capacity of 500 visitors. How to get there
AIR Offices is in central Rotterdam, close to Beursplein, the Coolsingel and the Binnenrotte. Beurs and Stadhuis metro stations are within walking distance, while several tram routes stop nearby. With Zomercarnaval road closures and large crowds expected in the centre, travelling by metro, tram, bike or on foot is the sensible choice.
