ROTTERDAM, 6 July 2026 – Haven Hotel Rotterdam is extending the North Sea Jazz weekend with three free nights of live jazz and DJ sets from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July. Brintex Quintet, Efe Erdem Quartet and The Hoff featuring Maurice DC will perform at the hotel on Leuvehaven, with music continuing until 02:00 on Friday and Saturday.

The programme gives festival visitors somewhere to continue the night after leaving Rotterdam Ahoy, while remaining open to hotel guests, Rotterdammers and music lovers without a North Sea Jazz ticket. Because apparently the final note at Ahoy does not have to be the final note of the evening.
Haven Hotel Rotterdam sits beside the historic Leuvehaven in the Maritime District, between the city centre, the river and several of Rotterdam’s cultural venues. During North Sea Jazz, the hotel will turn part of that waterfront setting into a late-night meeting place with live performances, cocktails and DJ sets.
Each evening begins with a DJ before moving between recorded music and two live sets. The programme focuses mainly on musicians connected to Rotterdam, giving the weekend an alternative to simply going home, or standing in a very long cloakroom queue while quietly reassessing your footwear.
Brintex opens the weekend
Brintex Quintet performs on Friday 10 July. Led by Rotterdam keyboard player Brenn Luiten, the group represents a younger generation of Dutch jazz musicians, combining contemporary jazz with hip-hop, broken beat and electronic soul.
The Hoff opens the evening from 21:00 to 23:00. Brintex Quintet then performs its first live set from 23:00 to 23:45, followed by another DJ set until 00:15.
The quintet returns from 00:15 to 01:00, after which The Hoff closes the night with music until 02:00.
Brintex draws part of its sound from the current British jazz scene, where jazz regularly meets club music, hip-hop and electronic production. That makes the group a logical choice for an afterhours programme intended to sit somewhere between a concert, hotel bar and late-night session.

Efe Erdem takes Saturday
On Saturday 11 July, Efe Erdem Quartet takes over the live part of the programme. Turkish-born trombonist Efe Erdem studied at Codarts and has since become part of Rotterdam’s jazz scene, developing a sound shaped by modern jazz, soul and international influences.
DJ HYM plays from 21:00 to 23:00 before the quartet’s first set, which runs until 23:45. The DJ returns for half an hour, followed by a second Efe Erdem Quartet performance from 00:15 to 01:00.
DJ HYM then continues until 02:00, bringing the second evening to a close. Entry remains free throughout the night.
The format allows visitors to arrive at different points without needing to sit through one fixed concert programme. You can come early for the DJ, arrive after North Sea Jazz for the live sets or appear around midnight with the determined expression of someone who has decided sleep is a problem for Monday.
Sunday mixes beats and improvisation
The final evening takes place on Sunday 12 July and begins slightly earlier in spirit, if not on the clock. The Hoff starts at 21:00, followed by a collaborative set with Maurice DC from 22:00 to 22:45.
The Hoff returns until 23:15, before the pair perform a second live set from 23:15 to midnight. The closing DJ set continues until 01:00.
Sunday’s combination of electronic beats and live improvisation gives the weekend a more contemporary closing chapter. Rather than recreating a traditional jazz concert, the set explores the point where a DJ performance and a live musician begin responding to one another.
The three nights form an unofficial afterhours route alongside the main North Sea Jazz programme at Ahoy. Haven Hotel is not part of the festival site, but its free programme gives the city-centre side of Rotterdam its own late-night jazz address during the weekend.

Free entry at Leuvehaven
All three evenings are free to attend. No hotel stay or North Sea Jazz ticket is required, making the programme accessible to anyone who wants to hear live music or end the evening beside the water.
Haven Hotel has been developing more cultural programming through projects including the Curio Art Project and A Night at the Gallery. General manager Melle van Uden says the hotel wants local music and art to become part of its identity beyond the usual overnight stay.
“Rotterdam is a city full of creativity. During North Sea Jazz, we do not only want to welcome that energy, but allow it to continue,” says Van Uden. “By giving young Rotterdam jazz talent a stage and bringing visitors together in a relaxed setting, we create an experience that goes beyond a hotel stay.”
The hotel also houses Bar Calan, LOEF Living Room & Café and Dō cafe bar bistro. More information about the hotel is available at https://havenhotelrotterdam.com/.
