ROTTERDAM, 30 June 2026 – Blendd has opened two new hospitality spaces inside de Doelen, giving Rotterdam another place to eat, drink, listen and meet in the middle of the city. Studio Blendd @ de Doelen is already open as an all-day listening bar, while Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen opens officially in September after a series of preview dinners.
The arrival of Blendd gives two familiar parts of de Doelen a new role. Studio Blendd has moved into the former de Doelen Studio on Kruisplein, while Bistro Blendd will open in Studio 3, the former de Doelen Keuken, on Schouwburgplein.

Blendd enters de Doelen
De Doelen has been part of Rotterdam’s cultural life for more than half a century, with classical music, jazz, talks, festivals and creative programmes all moving through the building. Blendd adds a hospitality layer to that cultural setting, connecting food, drinks and music more directly with the rhythm of the venue.
The concept is split into two parts. Studio Blendd is the more informal listening bar, built around drinks, music and creative moments throughout the day. Bistro Blendd is the restaurant side, intended as a warm city bistro where visitors, artists, makers, partners and Rotterdammers can sit down for lunch, dinner or a glass of wine before a concert.
Blendd is an initiative by Vineyard, the hospitality partner of de Doelen. Its arrival follows a wider development of the de Doelen Studios, where parts of the building are used for live music, art exhibitions, workshops, children’s activities, conversations and public programmes.
For Rotterdam, this makes sense. De Doelen was never just a concert hall anyway. It has always had the feeling of a building where several versions of the city pass each other in the corridors, some dressed for a symphony, some arriving for jazz, some just looking for a decent table and a drink before the evening begins.
Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen officially opens from September 2026, but the restaurant is already testing the waters with a small series of preview dinners.

Bistro opens with previews
Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen officially opens from September 2026, but the restaurant is already testing the waters with a small series of preview dinners. The first preview dates took place on Saturday 27, Sunday 28 and Monday 29 June, with another preview listed for Monday 6 July.
The bistro is presented as a place where the city can sit down for good food and wine in a setting with character. It is aimed at both cultural visitors and people who simply want to eat in the city centre, whether or not they are attending a concert.
The restaurant will also have a business side. The Harmoniezaal can be used for private meetings or presentations, while the bistro itself offers a setting for lunch or dinner around those moments.
Reservations and further details are available via https://blendd.nl/. The bistro address is Schouwburgplein 56.
Studio Blendd @ de Doelen is already open from Wednesday to Saturday.

Studio Blendd is already open
Studio Blendd @ de Doelen is already open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 16:00 to 23:00. It is described as an all-day listening bar with programming from de Doelen.
The music programme includes Newport Jazz Sessions and weekly Friday Vinyl Sessions with hometown selectors. Upcoming Vinyl Sessions listed in the de Doelen agenda include Chris O'Riordan on 3 July, mo w/rights on 10 July, Anton de Bruin on 17 July, Wes on 24 July and doo-bop on 31 July.
The Studio Blendd idea is flexible: you can come in for a drink, stay for music, meet someone after work or let the evening quietly become something else. From coffee to workshops, vinyl and cocktails, the space is intended to flow between daytime and evening use.
That gives de Doelen a more casual front door for people who may not be entering for a main hall concert. You can walk in for the atmosphere, the music or simply because you are around Kruisplein and want somewhere that feels connected to the cultural city without requiring a programme booklet and a solemn face.
A new layer for a familiar building
Studio Blendd and Bistro Blendd both build on spaces that already had a history inside de Doelen. The former studio has long been associated with live music and creative energy, while the former de Doelen Keuken now becomes the home of the bistro.
Together, the two spaces bring de Doelen closer to the kind of open cultural building Rotterdam increasingly seems to like: part venue, part meeting place, part food and drink stop, part excuse to linger a little longer in the city centre.
