ROTTERDAM, 30 December 2024 – A new Terre des Hommes charity shop is set to open in Hillegersberg in early 2025. The organisation is seeking local volunteers to help run the store and support its mission against child exploitation.
Terre des Hommes opens shop in Hillegersberg
A new charity shop by Terre des Hommes will soon open its doors in the Hillegersberg neighbourhood of Rotterdam. The shop, located at Bergse Dorpstraat 109A, will sell second-hand items such as women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. All proceeds from the shop will support projects aimed at combatting child exploitation.
The new Hillegersberg shop marks the 43rd outlet for Terre des Hommes in the Netherlands. The store will rely on donated items, including high-quality clothing and accessories, to stock its shelves.
Volunteers needed for new shop
To operate the shop, Terre des Hommes is seeking dedicated volunteers. Frank van Nederveen, Regional Coordinator, explains, “We are looking for individuals who enjoy running a shop, assembling a passionate team of volunteers, or interacting with customers. Whether you have experience as a stylist, enjoy organising storage spaces, or prefer administrative tasks, there’s a role for everyone.”
