HAPPENING 31 DEC 2025 | New Year’s Eve in Rotterdam will be marked high above the Maas this year, with Skybar Celest hosting a party overlooking the National Fireworks. From the 57th floor of De Zalmhaven, guests will be able to watch the display at the Erasmus Bridge with a full view of the city skyline.

The National Fireworks (Nationale Vuurwerk) at the Erasmus Bridge will go ahead on New Year’s Eve, and one of the higher vantage points in the city will be Skybar Celest in De Zalmhaven. From the 57th floor, guests can watch the midnight fireworks while looking out across Rotterdam’s harbour, bridges and high-rise skyline.
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve event are priced at €249 per person. The night includes a drinks selection, a number of cocktails and a series of small dishes such as loaded fries with truffle, lobster rolls, short ribs and brioche snacks. Doors open at 22.00, champagne is poured at midnight to welcome the new year, and the party runs until 02.00.
Phased reopening after water damage
Celest was forced to close temporarily in the summer because of water damage and has been reopening in stages. In recent months, the venue has been used again for corporate and private events, while preparations continued behind the scenes for a broader reopening.
The New Year’s Eve party will act as the festive reopening of the sky bar for individual reservations. A DJ and saxophonist will provide music throughout the evening. There is no strict dress code, although party wear is encouraged for those who want to dress up for the occasion.
Regular weekend opening from january
From Friday 2 January 2026, the sky bar will be open every Friday and Saturday evening for guests who book individually. Visitors will be able to take in the 360-degree views across Rotterdam, from the river and Erasmus Bridge to the Scheepvaartkwartier and the expanding Zalmhaven district.
On these evenings, Celest will serve a changing selection of bites alongside a broad drinks list that includes wines, beers and cocktails. For the time being, the restaurant section of Celest will remain reserved for group bookings and events.

Celest is a sky bar and restaurant located around 190 metres above ground level in De Zalmhaven, with space for events of up to roughly 250 people. The venue is used for business gatherings and private occasions, including dinners, receptions and meetings, combining food, drinks and city views in one location.

Skybar Celest is located in De Zalmhaven, at Gedempte Zalmhaven 20, 3016 DT Rotterdam. The tower sits on the edge of the Scheepvaartkwartier, within walking distance of the Erasmus Bridge and the Maas, in an area where historic quays and modern high-rise buildings stand side by side. The venue can be reached by tram and metro via nearby stops such as Leuvehaven and metro station Beurs, and is also close to various riverfront walking routes and water taxi points.
