ROTTERDAM, 21 October 2025 — Nonprofit organisation KLABU is inviting runners to take part in Team KLABU during the NN Marathon Rotterdam on 12 April 2026. In partnership with Golazo, KLABU is offering 400 race entries to runners who raise at least €1,000 through their personal fundraising campaign. The funds will go directly toward building a new sports clubhouse in Kampala, Uganda, giving thousands of refugees and local children a place to play, learn and connect.
The power of sport
KLABU uses sport to bring hope, joy and resilience to refugee communities. The new Kampala clubhouse will be more than just a place to train. It will offer access to sports equipment, classes, music, the internet and television. The clubhouse will serve as a vibrant community hub where people can come together despite the challenges they face.
NN Marathon Rotterdam x KLABU
The NN Marathon Rotterdam, known as both the fastest and most beautiful marathon in the Netherlands, will be the stage for this unique partnership. While thousands cross the iconic Coolsingel finish line, Team KLABU runners will go the extra mile not just for themselves but for a greater cause: making sport accessible for everyone.
Jan van Hövell, founder of KLABU, explains:
“Running a marathon shows the power of sport: perseverance, connection and joy. With Team KLABU, our runners make it possible for thousands of children and refugees in Kampala to experience that same power. Together, we are not just building a clubhouse, we are building opportunities and a future.”
How it works
Participants can register via the official KLABU fundraising page and set up their own campaign. Depending on the amount raised, runners receive the following rewards:
- €250: exclusive STOX x KLABU running socks
- €500: official KLABU shirt
- €1,000 or more: guaranteed marathon entry (first raised, first served)
