ROTTERDAM, 19 November 2025 – People in Rotterdam living with inflammatory rheumatic diseases can soon join an online information evening from home. A free webinar on 18 December will cover current treatments, fatigue and the role of lifestyle and nutrition. It's going to be Dutch-spoken.
Webinar focuses on RA and other inflammatory conditions
On Thursday 18 December, the National Association ReumaZorg Nederland and the Rheumatology department of Maasstad Hospital will host an online “Reuma inspiratie avond” (in Dutch) for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or other inflammatory diseases such as psoriatic arthritis (PsA) or axial spondyloarthritis (axiale SpA).
The webinar runs from 18.30 to 20.00 and is aimed at patients, their partners and anyone who wants to better understand living with inflammatory rheumatic conditions.
Latest treatment options and dealing with fatigue
Rheumatologist Natalja Basoski from Maasstad Hospital will explain the latest developments in treatment. She will outline which therapies are currently available and how rheumatologists decide which options may suit different patients.
Psychologist emeritus professor Rinie Geenen (Utrecht University) will discuss how people with rheumatic diseases can deal with fatigue, a symptom that often has a major impact on daily life and is not always easy to manage.
Lifestyle, nutrition and rheumatic disease
An increasing number of studies look at how lifestyle and diet may influence inflammatory conditions. Dietitian and health scientist Michelle Bisschops, together with dietitian and researcher Anna Kretova, will give a practical presentation on this topic.
They will talk about what is currently known, what still needs more research and which everyday nutrition choices may support people who live with RA, PsA or axial SpA. The session will include concrete, realistic food tips rather than strict or short lived “miracle” diets.
Asking questions and how to register
Participants can submit questions online during the webinar. The speakers will address as many as possible within the available time, so that the evening becomes an interactive session rather than a one way lecture.
Registration is required. Anyone who wishes to join can send an email to
