Clearer points of sale in Zuid-Holland

Alongside Kore in Rotterdam, other newly registered Wilderful florists include De Iris (The Hague), Fiori Bloemen (Leiden), Hemelse Bloemen (Delft) and Bloembar (Alphen aan den Rijn). Together, they form part of the first 25 florists in the Netherlands to be officially registered with Skal Biocontrole, the national regulator for organic farming.

Research by Natuur & Milieu shows that 63% of consumers would prefer to buy flowers without chemical pesticides, yet 83% do not know where to find them. These Skal-certified florists now provide clear and reliable sales points.

Why organic flowers?

Organic flowers are grown without chemical fertilisers or pesticides and always in open ground. Choosing them supports biodiversity, clean drinking water and healthy soil. Wilderful, the collective behind the initiative, works with local florists to make organic flowers more accessible across the Netherlands.

Silke Tijkotte, co-founder of Wilderful, explains: “By collaborating with local florists, we make organic flowers available to consumers while also helping to restore biodiversity and preserve the Dutch flower culture.”
