HAPPENING 6 - 14 FEB '27 | The ABN AMRO Open returns to Rotterdam Ahoy from 6 to 14 February 2027 for nine days of ATP 500 and wheelchair tennis. Three former Rotterdam champions are already confirmed: Carlos Alcaraz, Félix Auger-Aliassime and defending champion Alex de Minaur.
Rotterdam’s tennis week
When the ABN AMRO Open lands at Ahoy, the court feels close, the pace feels fast and the crowd rarely stays quiet. The tournament remains one of Rotterdam’s biggest annual sporting events. In 2026, organisers reported 139,556 visitors across the event.
The 54th edition takes place from Saturday 6 February to Sunday 14 February 2027 at Rotterdam Ahoy. Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February form the official qualifying weekend, followed by the main tournament from Monday.

What kind of tournament is it?
The ABN AMRO Open is part of the ATP 500 series and is played indoors at Rotterdam Ahoy. That status regularly brings some of the biggest names in men’s tennis to Rotterdam, but the final entry list is only established closer to the tournament.
Alongside the ATP event, Ahoy hosts elite wheelchair tennis. The men’s wheelchair tournament has been part of the event since 2009, while a women’s wheelchair tournament was introduced in 2023.
Men’s singles: Alcaraz, De Minaur and Auger-Aliassime confirmed
The 2027 field is already taking shape. At the time of our latest check, three former Rotterdam champions had officially confirmed their participation:
- Carlos Alcaraz, the 2025 champion
- Félix Auger-Aliassime, the 2022 champion and 2026 finalist
- Alex de Minaur, the defending 2026 champion
Alcaraz is returning to Rotterdam after winning the tournament on his debut in 2025. De Minaur finally lifted the trophy in 2026 after finishing runner-up in both 2024 and 2025, while Auger-Aliassime will be looking for a second Rotterdam title.

Past men’s singles winners
International top-level tennis was staged at Ahoy as early as 1972, when Arthur Ashe won an international tournament there, but the official ABN tournament history begins in 1974. Tom Okker won that inaugural edition.
The event has since produced a long list of famous champions, including Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Björn Borg, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Juan Martín del Potro, Stan Wawrinka, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Roger Federer is the official record-holder with three Rotterdam singles titles.
One of the tournament’s landmark finals came in 1979, when Björn Borg defeated John McEnroe 6-4, 6-2.

The doubles tournament
Doubles at Rotterdam Ahoy is fast, tactical and often decided at the net. Shorter reaction times and constant positional changes make it a very different watch from singles, particularly when you are sitting close to the court.
Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori have won the last two Rotterdam doubles titles. After taking the trophy in 2025, the Italians successfully defended it in 2026 by defeating qualifiers Ray Ho and Hendrik Jebens 6-3, 6-4.
Things worth watching include:
- The net battle: once one team controls the net, points can disappear very quickly.
- Serve and first-volley patterns: doubles relies heavily on planned combinations and positioning.
- The match tie-break: ATP doubles often uses a deciding match tie-break instead of a full third set.

Wheelchair tennis at the ABN AMRO Open
Wheelchair tennis is fully integrated into the Rotterdam tournament rather than treated as a separate event. The men’s wheelchair tournament was introduced in 2009 and has developed into what the organisers describe as the largest indoor wheelchair tennis tournament in Europe.
A women’s wheelchair tournament was added in 2023, when Diede de Groot won the inaugural women’s singles title at Ahoy. The tournament now brings leading men and women from the international wheelchair circuit to Rotterdam.
The official tournament also provides online coverage of wheelchair matches. Player fields and draws are normally announced closer to the event.
Tickets, sessions and theme days
Tickets for the main tournament week are now on sale through the official ABN AMRO Open ticket pathway. Prices vary according to day, session and seat category, so check the official ticket page for live availability before booking.
At the time of our latest check, advertised starting prices were:
- Monday 8 February: day session from €19.50, evening from €30
- Tuesday 9 February, Trendy Tuesday: from €33
- Wednesday 10 February, Kidsday: from €38.50, with selected Kidsday tickets from €19.50
- Thursday 11 February, #NEXTGEN Day: from €43
- Friday 12 February, quarter-finals: from €51.50 during the day and €54.50 in the evening
- Saturday 13 February, semi-finals: from €62.50 during the afternoon and €67 in the evening
- Sunday 14 February, finals: from €73
Qualifying-weekend tickets were not yet available when we checked on 12 September 2026. The organisers said sales were expected to begin in mid to late September.

Match times
For qualifying on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February, doors open at 10:00 and the first matches are scheduled for 11:00.
From Monday 8 through Friday 12 February, the day session starts at 11:00 and the evening session at 19:30.
On Saturday 13 February, wheelchair finals begin at 11:00, followed by the afternoon ATP session at 13:00 and the evening session at 19:30.
Finals Sunday begins with the doubles final at 13:00. The men’s singles final is scheduled for 15:30.
Location and transport: Rotterdam Ahoy
Rotterdam Ahoy is at Ahoyweg 10, 3084 BA Rotterdam, beside the Zuidplein shopping and transport hub in Rotterdam-Zuid.
Metro and bus services stop at Zuidplein station. From there, Ahoy is about a five-minute walk. From Rotterdam Centraal, the metro journey to Zuidplein takes roughly ten minutes.
