ROTTERDAM, 25 October 2023 – The route for the 2024 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, commencing outside France for the first time, has been announced in Paris. The race will start in Rotterdam and includes stages in The Hague and Dordrecht.
Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2024: Dutch stages revealed
The event, spanning from 12 to 18 August, will feature three stages in the Netherlands. This marks the first time the prestigious women's cycling event starts outside France. The collaboration involves Rotterdam, The Hague, and Dordrecht, aiming to create an accessible event that encourages cycling and physical activity.
First stage: Rotterdam to The Hague
Revealed in Paris, the first stage on 12 August starts next to the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam's Museumpark, covering 138 kilometers to The Hague. The route passes through Voorne-Putten and Westland, concluding in Kijkduin.
Second and third stages in Rotterdam
On 13 August, two stages are scheduled. The morning stage, a 73-kilometer ride from Dordrecht to Rotterdam, passes through Kinderdijk and Alblasserwaard. The afternoon features a 6-kilometer individual time trial in Rotterdam, starting at Erasmusbrug, passing landmarks like the Willemsbrug, and finishing on the Boompjes.
From Rotterdam to Valkenburg and beyond
Post the Rotterdam stages, the tour proceeds to a stage from Valkenburg to Liège, concluding at l’Alpe d’Huez on 18 August.
Rotterdam's pre-Tour festivities
A city program on 11 August in Rotterdam precedes the Grand Départ, featuring cycling tours and opportunities for visitors to experience the Tour route.
