Two Rotterdam hotels to reopen as Hilton franchises in 2024

ROTTERDAM, 19 September 2023 – A significant expansion in Rotterdam's hospitality sector is on the horizon as two new hotels prepare to join the city's landscape. Annexum and Hilton have entered into a franchise agreement to reposition two hotels, adding a total of 480 rooms to Rotterdam's accommodation options.

Annexum and Hilton collaborate on new hotels

A franchise agreement has been signed between Hilton and Annexum for the repositioning of two hotels in Rotterdam. The hotels, named Mainport Hotel Rotterdam Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre, will open their doors in 2024 after renovations. Until then, both hotels will continue to operate as Hilton affiliate hotels. Annexum recently acquired these properties, which will be the first under the Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton brands in Rotterdam.

Views on the collaboration

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for Hilton, stated, “Rotterdam is a dynamic city with a vibrant cultural scene. The addition of Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton will enhance its appeal as a travel destination. This collaboration with Annexum increases Hilton's presence in Rotterdam.”

Ronald Jansen, partner at Annexum, said, “The growing popularity of Rotterdam among business travellers and tourists is evident. We believe that these recently acquired hotels, in collaboration with Hilton, will become even more popular. Their prime location in the heart of Rotterdam makes them ideal for conversion to DoubleTree by Hilton and Curio Collection by Hilton.”

Features of Mainport Hotel Rotterdam

Mainport Hotel Rotterdam, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, will offer 215 rooms with a 360-degree view of both the waterfront and Rotterdam's city centre. The hotel will also feature a bar and restaurant overlooking the Maas, as well as spa and fitness facilities on the top floor. For business travellers, the hotel will provide 600 square meters of conference and event space, divided over 10 meeting rooms.

DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre's offerings

Located at the base of the Erasmus Bridge, DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre will have 265 rooms. The hotel will also offer a spa, swimming pool, and meeting rooms on the 15th and 16th floors, providing a stunning backdrop for meetings and events.

Accessibility and location

How to get there

Both hotels will be easily accessible, with their own parking facilities, charging points for electric cars, and proximity to the Leuvehaven metro station and Rotterdam's extensive tram network. The hotels are situated near popular city attractions like Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Oude Haven, the Maritime Museum Rotterdam, and the Cube Houses.
