FROM 25 SEP '27 to 6 FEB '28 | Kunsthal Rotterdam will present an exhibition by photography duo Luigi & Iango from 25 September 2027 to 6 February 2028. Bringing together fashion photography, celebrity portraits and more personal work, the exhibition shows how Luigi Murenu and Iango Henzi move between glamour, intimacy and subjects far removed from the polished world of fashion.
From Vogue covers to Kunsthal
Luigi & Iango, the Italian-Swiss duo formed by Luigi Murenu and Iango Henzi, are internationally known for their work in fashion photography.
Since beginning their collaboration, they have produced more than 300 covers for international editions of Vogue. Their photographs have also appeared in magazines including i-D, W, Vanity Fair, Chaos and Dust.
The Kunsthal exhibition will bring together a selection of this fashion work alongside portraits of internationally known figures including Madonna and Cate Blanchett.

Fashion, intimacy and personal stories
Luigi & Iango's work moves between highly constructed fashion imagery and more personal subjects. Their photographs can be theatrical and glamorous, but the duo also uses photography to explore intimacy and subjects outside the fashion industry.
Part of the exhibition will focus on this more personal side of their practice, showing how the photographers approach different people and communities beyond editorial fashion.
Among the examples highlighted by Kunsthal is a series in which Luigi & Iango photographed members of the Yakuza, the Japanese organised crime groups.
A broader view of their photography
By presenting editorial commissions alongside independent work, the exhibition will show the range of Luigi & Iango's photographic practice.
Their body of work spans the stylised visual language of international fashion magazines as well as projects centred on identity, character and personal stories. The contrast between these approaches forms an important part of the Rotterdam presentation.
Rather than focusing solely on famous faces or fashion imagery, the exhibition places both sides of their work together in one show.
