TREK, the Netherlands' largest travelling food festival, makes a stop in Rotterdam's Vroesenpark. TREK is all about an intimate atmosphere with good food, plenty of drinks and live entertainment from local artists, comedians and musicians.
From Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 May 2022, the Netherlands' biggest travelling food festival kicks off its new season in Rotterdam. Epicureans from all over the world can enjoy the most delicious street food prepared with love in the most beautiful food trucks in the Vroesenpark. Festival TREK also guarantees a surprising range of entertainment with acts and performances by theatre artists, Dutch comedians and musical talent from the region. Festival TREK is a free festival and suitable for young and old.
Only the best and most beautiful food trucks pass Festival TREK's strict selection. They take into account a good price-quality ratio and a varied offer, with plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans. For their first order, visitors pay a one-time contribution of €2.75 for an environmentally friendly hard plastic festival TREK cup, which can be handed in at the bar for a 'new' (rinsed) glass with every subsequent order. There is no deposit on this cup.
Visitors also appreciate the festival because of its relaxed atmosphere and surprising entertainment with acts and performances by regional talent. The festival grounds include a town hall, church, theatre tent and various fairground classics. In the evening, visitors can enjoy the Silent Disco and a DJ who will get everyone moving with the greatest hits of all time.
TREK Festival continues to innovate
Every year, new elements are added to the festival grounds. For example, this season there will be a large cocktail bar with a roof terrace. Here you can enjoy a refreshing drink and the most beautiful view of the Burgundian Village. The city parks will also feature a grand wine terrace, a Biergarten and a lighthouse bar.
There are also several stages for up-and-coming musical talent. The "Mayor of TREK" welcomes the visitors, the theatre caravan provides the necessary cultural entertainment and visitors who want to go to confession can visit the priest of the local church. The youngest visitors to TREK are also thought of: they can enjoy themselves at the children's theatre, during a cooking workshop or with the wide range of old-fashioned Dutch games.
Festival TREK visits 8 of Holland's most beautiful city parks
From Thursday 5 May to Sunday 11 September, the largest food festival in the Netherlands will be travelling across the country, landing in eight city parks including, after Rotterdam, Maastricht, Utrecht, Nijmegen, Den Bosch, Amsterdam, The Hague and, new this year: Tilburg.
