Fright Years

Scottish four-piece Fright Years comes to Rotown with an expansive mix of alternative rock, indie pop, post-punk and new wave.

The Edinburgh band combines emotionally charged songwriting with big melodies and dramatic choruses. Their sound draws on the alternative rock of the 1990s, the post-punk and new wave of the 1980s and contemporary indie, with Jules Kelly's powerful vocals at the centre. Fans of Florence + The Machine, Nothing But Thieves, Wolf Alice and The Last Dinner Party should find plenty to enjoy here.

Fright Years released debut EP Still Life in 2025, produced by Theo Verney, who has also worked with English Teacher and Lime Garden. Since then, the band has appeared at TRNSMT, recorded a BBC Introducing session at Maida Vale and sold out several headline shows in the UK. A new EP is planned for 2027.
