Rotterdam-Zuid gets new travel vaccination centre

ROTTERDAM, 1 June 2026 – Travellers in Rotterdam-Zuid will soon have a new nearby option for travel advice and vaccinations. Vaccinatiepunt opens a new location at Lepelaarsingel 49 in Carnisse on 8 June 2026, aimed at people preparing for holidays, family visits, international work trips and longer journeys abroad.

For many Rotterdammers, travel does not start at Schiphol. It starts weeks earlier, with checking whether you need vaccinations, malaria advice or an international vaccination booklet before leaving.

Travel care closer to home

Rotterdam is one of the most international cities in the Netherlands, with people travelling regularly for work, study, family and holidays. That also means travel health advice matters, especially when trips go beyond Europe or involve destinations where vaccinations are recommended or required.

The new Vaccinatiepunt location gives people in Carnisse, Charlois, IJsselmonde and nearby neighbourhoods an option closer to home. Instead of travelling into the city centre for a consultation, visitors can now arrange personal travel advice and vaccinations in Rotterdam-Zuid.

“Rotterdam is a city with an enormous diversity of travellers, from commuters doing international business to families visiting relatives in faraway destinations,” says Hille Dorresteijn, director of Vaccinatiepunt. “With our new location in Rotterdam Carnisse, we want to make it easier for everyone in the region to travel well prepared.”

Vaccinations before your trip

At Vaccinatiepunt Rotterdam Carnisse, travellers can receive advice and vaccinations based on their destination and personal situation. The location offers travel vaccinations for hepatitis A and B, typhoid fever, yellow fever, rabies, dengue, meningococcal disease and DTP.

Travellers can also get malaria advice and preventive malaria tablets, depending on where they are going. The Carnisse location is an official yellow fever vaccination centre, which means travellers with an international vaccination booklet can have it stamped on site.

The advice is based on current LCR guidelines and adjusted to the traveller’s route, health situation and travel plans. That matters, because a backpacking trip, family visit, business journey or last-minute holiday can all come with different health advice.

Vaccinatiepunt also offers occupational vaccinations for professionals with increased health risks through their work, including hepatitis B and flu vaccinations. Vaccinations on request, such as the shingles vaccine, are also available.

Plan your appointment early

If you are planning a trip, it is worth checking vaccination advice well before departure. Depending on the destination and the vaccinations required, an appointment is preferably made four to eight weeks before you leave.

Some vaccinations need several doses or time to build up protection. Booking early gives you more options, although travellers leaving sooner can still make an appointment.

Vaccinatiepunt Rotterdam Carnisse is located on Lepelaarsingel in Rotterdam-Zuid, near the Carnisse and Charlois area. From Zuidplein, the address is easy to reach by bike or public transport, and it gives travellers south of the river a closer option for travel vaccinations and advice.
