Sven Cilliers

South African-Dutch singer-songwriter Sven Cilliers brings his heartfelt pop songs and infectious melodies to Rotown in Rotterdam on Thursday 22 April 2027. With a sound that combines acoustic warmth, nostalgic influences and catchy choruses, he is quickly making a name for himself on the Dutch music scene.

Growing up along South Africa's scenic Garden Route, Cilliers developed a love for music before moving to the Netherlands at the age of fifteen. Armed with his guitar, he began building an audience in an unusual way: performing spontaneous acoustic sets for fans waiting outside concert venues. These so-called lineshows helped him attract his first followers and eventually opened doors to a professional music career.

In 2026, Cilliers signed with Universal Music and released singles including Watermarks and Somebody New, the latter gaining significant radio airplay in the Netherlands. His songs explore personal experiences through warm melodies, emotional lyrics and memorable pop arrangements, with influences reminiscent of Noah Kahan, Dean Lewis and Benson Boone.

His upcoming performance at Rotown offers an opportunity to catch this rising singer-songwriter in an intimate setting, with the kind of direct connection to audiences that helped launch his career.
