Meltheads

Belgian garage rock band Meltheads returns to Rotterdam with a new sound, swapping English lyrics for Dutch and exploring a more melodic, experimental direction.

The Antwerp four-piece made its name with a raw mix of garage rock, post-punk, noise and psychedelia. Their debut album Decent Sex (2024) and breakout single Naïef helped establish the band on the Belgian alternative scene, while performances at Left of the Dial and a sold-out Roodkapje show introduced Rotterdam audiences to their explosive live sound.

Now Meltheads is preparing its second album, expected in spring 2027. The new material moves beyond the aggressive guitars of their earlier releases, introducing more melody, drum machines and acoustic instruments. Recent Dutch-language single Oorlog In Mij offers a first taste of this new direction. Think the adventurous songwriting of dEUS and the chaotic energy of Viagra Boys, with Meltheads' own restless character running throughout.

The band has previously toured Europe with dEUS and built a reputation for unpredictable, high-energy performances. Their return to Rotown promises a chance to hear how this new chapter translates to the stage.
