Pert Near Sandstone

Description

American band Pert Near Sandstone comes to Rotown as part of Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, bringing a modern take on bluegrass with touches of indie folk and blues.

The Minneapolis group is firmly rooted in bluegrass tradition, but uses that foundation to explore contemporary songwriting and a broader roots sound. Their music combines acoustic instrumentation, strong ensemble playing and songs shaped as much by present-day experiences as by the history of the genre.

Pert Near Sandstone is closely connected to the folk and bluegrass scene in Minneapolis and also organises its own Blue Ox Music Festival, which has grown into one of the better-known roots and bluegrass festivals in the American Midwest.
