ROTTERDAM, 7 February 2025 – Early morning commuters in Rotterdam will see a change in metro schedules as the first departures on certain routes have been brought forward on weekdays. The adjustments aim to improve travel options for early travellers.
Adjusted first metro departures
As of this week, the first metro services on specific routes in Rotterdam have been rescheduled to depart earlier. The changes affect two key routes:
- The first metro from Capelsebrug towards the city centre now departs at 05:48 instead of 06:00. This service is operated by Metro Line B.
- The first metro from Den Haag Centraal towards Rotterdam now departs at 05:46, instead of 05:57. As this service passes through Leidschenveen, an important transfer point for The Hague’s tram network, it will now arrive there at 05:56 instead of 06:07.
Impact on early commuters
The schedule changes are expected to benefit travellers who start their journeys earlier in the day, particularly those commuting to Rotterdam for work. The adjustments provide an earlier travel option, reducing wait times for those who rely on public transport before peak hours.
