Baroeg

Baroeg is a legendary subcultural pop venue in Rotterdam, known as the city’s home base for hard and alternative music. Since the early 1980s it has been the go-to spot for metal, punk, hardcore, rock, gothic, industrial, psychobilly and other underground styles. What started as an open youth centre grew into a full pop podium with a loyal community and its own annual festival, Baroeg Open Air. 

The venue sits in the Lombardijen neighbourhood by the Spinozapark and has an intimate club vibe: a compact hall with a low stage, solid sound system and a bar where artists and visitors mingle. For many underground and alternative fans in Rotterdam, Baroeg is less a random venue and more a second living room.
