Rotterdam Rocks returns to Baroeg with five hard rock and metal bands

Description

Rotterdam Rocks returns to Baroeg for the first time since 2023, bringing together five bands for an afternoon and evening of hard rock and heavy metal.

Dutch hard rock veterans Vengeance headline the festival. Fronted by Leon Goewie, the band has been a fixture of the scene since the 1980s and is particularly known for its energetic live shows. They return to Baroeg after appearing at Baroeg Open Air in 2025.

7 Miles To Pittsburgh brings together musicians with backgrounds in bands including Elegy, Sleeze Beez and Komatsu. Their third album Beyond Repair arrives in September 2026, giving the Rotterdam Rocks crowd some of the first opportunities to hear the new material live.

The international addition is Bangalore Choir, the American hard rock band fronted by former Accept singer David Reece. Dutch heavy metal veterans Picture, founded in 1979, are also on the bill, alongside Jurassic Park, whose classic hard rock draws inspiration from bands such as AC/DC, Saxon and Van Halen.

Description

Baroeg is a legendary subcultural pop venue in Rotterdam, known as the city’s home base for hard and alternative music. Since the early 1980s it has been the go-to spot for metal, punk, hardcore, rock, gothic, industrial, psychobilly and other underground styles. What started as an open youth centre grew into a full pop podium with a loyal community and its own annual festival, Baroeg Open Air.

The venue sits in the Lombardijen neighbourhood by the Spinozapark and has an intimate club vibe: a compact hall with a low stage, solid sound system and a bar where artists and visitors mingle. For many underground and alternative fans in Rotterdam, Baroeg is less a random venue and more a second living room.
