Tokyo band DYGL heads to Rotown in Rotterdam with a sound that sits somewhere between indie rock and garage rock, driven by sharp guitars and a relaxed but punchy energy. The group has spent the past few years building an international profile through tours across Europe, the United States and Asia, while also appearing at major festivals such as Fuji Rock, Summer Sonic and SXSW.

There is a clear Anglo-American thread running through their sound, which helps explain the comparisons to The Strokes, Buzzcocks and The Libertines. DYGL has also shared stages with acts including Franz Ferdinand and Fontaines D.C., which gives a fair sense of the musical lane they move in. Their track Who’s In My House is highlighted as a good entry point, while debut album Say Goodbye to Memory Den came with added attention thanks to production by Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes. Pronounced “Day-Glo”, the band brings a style that feels loose, direct and built for a compact club room.
