Amanda Shires

Americana fans, take note: Amanda Shires is coming to Rotterdam for an intimate show at LantarenVenster, marking her first concert at the venue. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist started young, joining the legendary Texas Playboys as a fiddler at just 15, and she has been moving through the genre’s inner circles ever since.

Along the way, Shires worked with songwriters and scene-shapers like John Prine, Neal Casal, Rod Picott, Todd Snider, and Justin Townes Earle. She also played in Jason Isbell’s 400 Unit and co-founded The Highwomen, the all-women country supergroup with Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, and Brandi Carlile.

Her album Take It Like a Man (2022) earned plenty of praise, written and recorded during lockdown and described here as brutally honest songwriting about a turbulent period in her life. More recently, she released Nobody’s Girl in September 2025, and this Rotterdam date promises that same sharp storytelling in a close, seated setting.
