Eric Vloeimans’ Hotspot!

Trumpeter Eric Vloeimans brings his genre-hopping band Hotspot! back to Rotterdam with a set that refuses to stay in neat categories. Known for his subtle, almost whispered trumpet tone and a career built on crossing musical borders, Vloeimans uses Hotspot! as his “Horn of Plenty”: a place where pop, jazz and funk collide and melt into something that feels both playful and sharply crafted.

This second LantarenVenster outing leans on fresh material from the upcoming album Pinkie Binkie Vol. 2. Expect danceable, funky grooves with a nod to James Brown’s In the Jungle Groove, hypnotic melodic hooks, and a streak of left-field joy, including a wink to Vloeimans’ collaboration with DJ Armin van Buuren. The listing also points to Caribbean influences, irresistible African rhythms, and a blast of Balkan brass in the mix.
