Trumpeter Riley Mulherkar, co-founder of The Westerlies, brings his debut album Riley (2024) to de Doelen’s Eduard Flipse Zaal in Rotterdam. Lauded by DownBeat as “über hip, modern yet timeless,” the project sets his lyrical trumpet in detailed soundscapes shaped by producers Rafiq Bhatia and Chris Pattishall. A Juilliard alumnus with credits alongside Kenny Barron and Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mulherkar leads his quartet in an evening that bridges tradition and contemporary jazz language.
