On Saturday 13 July 1985, the legendary Live Aid concert took place – a global benefit event spanning 16 hours across two venues: JFK Stadium in Philadelphia and Wembley Stadium in London. Broadcast live across numerous countries, it became one of the most iconic media spectacles the world has ever seen.
Now, forty years later, Tribute to the Music of Live Aid brings that momentous concert back to life with a powerful stage performance at the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. Audiences will be taken on a nostalgic journey through the greatest hits of the 1980s, featuring music by David Bowie, Sting, U2, Simple Minds, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Spandau Ballet, Phil Collins, and of course Queen. The tribute show includes a special appearance by Bert Heerink (Vandenberg, Kayak, Jan Akkerman) and showcases a cast of top-tier professional musicians.
Expect not only timeless classics, but also legendary sing-alongs and guilty pleasures. The production is filled with passion and enthusiasm, blending storytelling, anecdotes, and unforgettable music into an evening of high emotion and entertainment.
