Pixies

The legendary American band Pixies will play Maassilo in Rotterdam on Friday 17 July 2026, celebrating 40 years since their formation. This rare opportunity brings one of the most influential groups in alternative rock back to the stage for a milestone show.

With their explosive blend of jagged guitars, surrealist lyrics and dynamic tension, Pixies have shaped the sound of countless artists, from Nirvana and Radiohead to The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. Their influence remains undeniable, and their music continues to resonate with new generations.

From their early mini-album Come On Pilgrim (1987) and the groundbreaking Surfer Rosa (1988) to the iconic Doolittle (1989), the band delivered classics such as Debaser, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Here Comes Your Man and Where Is My Mind. Following their 1993 breakup, Pixies reunited in 2004 to play sold-out venues worldwide and have since released several albums, the most recent being The Night the Zombies Came (2024). With Emma Richardson (ex-Band of Skulls) now on bass, the group continues to evolve while staying true to their uncompromising sound.
