Step into an evening filled with inspiration, emotion, and cultural richness. Kerida Kretcheu — A Portrait of the Cape Verdean Woman — brings a powerful and moving showcase to Rotterdam, shining a spotlight on the stories, songs, and strength of Cape Verdean women.

This unique show takes audiences on a journey through the Cape Verdean diaspora, blending music, storytelling, and art to paint a broad and beautiful portrait of the Cape Verdean woman. From tradition to modernity, and from youth to old age, the performance honours her vital role in the community and beyond.

Taking the stage are vocalists Dina Medina, Djosy Santos, Lena Évora, Natalia Santos, and Wendy Teixeira, with live musical accompaniment by Morabeza. Special guests will also make appearances throughout the night.

But this is more than just a performance — it’s a full evening programme featuring poetry, art, gastronomy, a lively indoor market, a DJ, and an afterparty. Whether you're part of the community or simply curious, this is your chance to connect with the beauty, strength, and diversity of Cape Verdean womanhood.

Organised by Productiehuis SchoneKunsten in honour of the International Year of the Woman and the 50th anniversary of Cape Verdean independence.
