Baroeg x Rotown present a sludge-metal sonic assault for fans of Weedeater, Mastodon and Sleep
Baroeg, the Rotterdam haven for heavy alternative music, is under renovation until late 2025 — but that won’t stop them. As part of their ‘Baroeg On Tour’ series, they team up with Rotown to bring Belgian sludge-doom juggernauts Modder to the stage.
Formed in Ghent, Modder’s sound is a thick wall of brutal riffs, pounding basslines, thunderous drums and industrial samples. It’s a relentless, euphoric wave of distorted heaviness — think molten riffs tumbling like boulders through apocalyptic landscapes. Their breakout EP Mudslinger (2020) hit like a hammer, and their self-titled debut album sold out in under two weeks. Their 2023 release The Great Liberation Through Hearing continues their path of destruction and transcendence.
Modder doesn’t just crush; they elevate riff worship into an art form.
