Eric Vloeimans, Frank Woeste & Franck Agulhon

Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans returns to LantarenVenster with a new trio and new music, joined by pianist Frank Woeste and drummer Franck Agulhon.

Vloeimans is known for a trumpet sound that can move from quiet and lyrical to fiery improvisation. His musical connection with German pianist Frank Woeste goes back several years. Based in Paris, Woeste moves between jazz and classical influences and experiments with the different textures of piano and Fender Rhodes. He has previously worked with musicians including Ibrahim Maalouf and Youn Sun Nah.

French drummer Franck Agulhon completes the trio. Trained at the Drummers Collective in New York, he has performed with artists including Biréli Lagrène and Baptiste Trotignon. Together, the three musicians explore melody, improvisation and rhythmic interplay in a new set of original music.
