Former Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb returns to de Doelen for a presentation centred on his memoir Thuis. Looking back over 50 years of life in the Netherlands, Aboutaleb connects his personal journey from Morocco’s Rif region to Rotterdam’s mayoral office with broader questions about migration, citizenship, identity, tolerance and social responsibility. The afternoon combines his reflections on home and belonging with music and poetry, including the sound of the Arabic oud.
