Sven Ratzke returns to Oude Luxor with KOPFKINO, a new solo performance that turns more than 130 years of cinema into a theatrical, musical journey. After his acclaimed shows about Marlene Dietrich and David Bowie, the entertainer now dives into the glowing dream world of film.

From the earliest flickering images to the grandeur of Hollywood and the poetic worlds of Fellini, Fassbinder, Hitchcock and Lynch, Ratzke lets cinema’s atmosphere bleed into music, storytelling and performance. Expect new arrangements, familiar songs, personal stories and a stage filled with divas, dreamers and larger-than-life characters.

At times witty, at times melancholic, KOPFKINO turns the theatre into a living film canvas. One moment Greta Garbo may appear in spirit, the next Miss Piggy could wander into the frame.

The Oude Luxor Theater, originally opened in 1917, is a historic landmark in the heart of Rotterdam. With its classic theater ambiance, it has been a beloved venue for over a century, hosting legendary cabaret performances, stand-up comedy, plays, and intimate musical productions. Despite being severely damaged during World War II, the theater was restored and remains an essential part of Rotterdam’s cultural scene. Seating around 900 guests, the Oude Luxor is cherished for its cozy, nostalgic atmosphere, attracting both established and up-and-coming artists.
