Cass McCombs

American singer-songwriter Cass McCombs comes to LantarenVenster in Rotterdam with the kind of catalogue that has earned him a lasting place in left-field guitar music. For more than two decades, McCombs has moved between rock, folk and psychedelia without ever sounding pinned down, writing songs that feel reflective, elusive and quietly affecting. His work tends to linger rather than announce itself, which is part of what has made him such a respected figure.

That quality seems to carry into his more recent material as well. The 2025 album Interior Live Oak, made with long-time musical companions Jason Quever and Chris Cohen, is presented as one of his clearest and most personal records to date. In a room like LantarenVenster, this Rotterdam show should suit McCombs well, offering space for the detail, mood and songwriting craft that have long defined his work.
