Saxophonist and bandleader Lakecia Benjamin brings serious firepower back to Rotterdam. Expect gold outfits, explosive improvisation, and a spiritual edge that never feels polite. She made her name by diving head-first into the world of John and Alice Coltrane, and the breakthrough album Pursuance: The Coltranes (2020) confirmed what plenty of jazz fans had already clocked: she’s one of the standout sax voices of her generation.

Even a heavy car accident in 2021 did not slow her down; she channelled that moment into Phoenix (2023), an album that earned three Grammy nominations.
