The epic journey through Middle-earth reaches its finale at RTM Stage in Rotterdam with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in Concert. A large ensemble of more than 200 professional musicians, including Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen and major Dutch choirs, performs Howard Shore’s Oscar-winning score live while Peter Jackson’s film plays in full on the big screen. Audiences are invited to march alongside Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, feel the growing shadow of Mordor and follow Frodo and Sam to Mount Doom as the trilogy’s final chapter unfolds with symphonic force. Crowned with 11 Academy Awards, this cinematic triumph becomes an even more immersive experience when the music rises from the hall rather than the speakers, making it a fitting highlight for the Christmas holiday period.
