Matt Berninger – Intimate Trio Performance

Description

The National frontman performs an intimate set

Matt Berninger, the singer and lyricist of the Grammy-winning band The National, is known for his dark humour, piercing lyrics and haunting melodies — a combination that has made his voice one of the most recognisable in indie rock. With The National, Berninger has released ten studio albums, including First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track (2023), as well as the live album Rome in late 2024. Alongside the band, he continues to work on solo material. His debut Serpentine Prison arrived in 2020, followed in 2025 by Get Sunk.

Get Sunk is an intimate yet grand-sounding record, co-created with Grammy winner Sean O’Brien, who both co-produced and co-wrote much of it. The album’s layered sound captures melancholy and sharp human insight, enriched by contributions from friends and collaborators including Meg Duffy (Hand Habits), Julia Laws (Ronboy), Kyle Resnick (The National, Beirut), Booker T. Jones, and members of The Walkmen.

During this Intimate Trio Performance, Berninger strips things back to the core — voice, storytelling, and raw emotion — offering fans a rare chance to experience his songs in their most personal form.
